Is it possible to make custom work order ID numbers, based on the request type? I think having custom WOIDs should be optional for each request type. So that some request types can continue on an sequential format with each other, but those with custom formats can be sequential on their own.
Custom WOIDs can use a simple format, allowing for 2 to 4 letters at the start of the WOID. Ex;
for technology, we could optionally decide to make our WOIDs start with an "IT" at the beginning.
WO #IT-1234
WO #IT-1235
WO #IT-1236
For those using fiscal year number, it could look like WO #23-IT-1237.
I believe this won't be of great value in the overall idea of MLWO, it may be a welcomed customization, for those working in different departments who work on WOs. It can also serve as a way in quick glance, to see how many WOs for a specific request type have come in on any given day or week. Then, for those who are submitting WOs, will be able to see the 2 to 4 custom letters at the start of their WOID, for a quick indication to what request type the work order is, be it in the "My Work Orders" section or in an email subject line.
Hi @Guest , currently your work order site has its fiscal year starting in july, so it does run July1-June31 whenever you are reporting on fiscal year(s) in the program. Which option are you referring to that says Jan-Dec so that way I can better understand your ask. Thank you!
We really like the idea of the fiscal year option, but our fiscal year is July1st-June 31st, and the fiscal year option is Jan-Dec. So being able to customize would give us that ability.
